my place and yours...

well here is my creative space!

this week, I may actually be able to get this uploaded in time for the actual creative space game.

hmmm, does anyone else struggle to find the time to keep up with all the computer blogging, facebook, co-ops, the list goes on.

I have been so busy of late, I have hardly even been on the computer. I know, quite a shock, as I tend to be that person who will sit at the computer and google aimlessly blog surfing, but never finding the right thing to put on mine.

anywho, this fabric arrived today, so instantly I whipped out this lotus fabric and had to make this skirt.

I have been busy preparing for the sugar and spice children's market in woodend

on this weekend

be sure to check out their blog, and if your in the area, pop on in, its indoors and warm and toasty!!

I was going to keep this fabric bundle for summer, but couldnt resist making up just this one simple skirt with it.

hats off to you!!

a little bit of a woollen fabric addiction.
at least the fabric is not sitting in my cupboard.
no, it's actually covering my dining table.
oh, and the floor around the table, with another pile in my workroom, falling onto the floor also.
yep. my name is Katie, and I am a fabric addict.
so what could be as cool as this weather we are having?
well, I'd reckon these hats are pretty awesome or 'totally sick' as my 4 year old says
these hats below looked way cooler when the photo was the right way, but I guess a little
wacky like me, it's uploaded sideways. hmmm,
stick to the machine not the computer perhaps.
anywho,
this isn't my creative space, since you can't actually see anything other than the mess,
but it has surfaced out of my creative space.
hope you like...

My Place and Yours....

my favourite watering can from my husbands grandfathers sacred shed
my beautiful slice dish that my grandmother got for her 21st she gave it to me 2 years ago, when I told her how beautiful it was. Such an amazing inspiration in my life.

inherited bits and pieces of various teasets

so much explanation about the history of this one.....
the old wooden boxes also from my husbands grandfathers shed. they are treasured in my work room thankyou Jimmy!
an old hemming whatsamecallit measuring stick thingy and a tin spool of elastic from my grandma
gorgeous old thrifted wooden spools
and a thrifted cigar box up the top
this weeks theme picked by A boy's mummy
she has chosen, preloved, inherited or thrifted

my place and yours.....

my place and yours.....
the theme this week is YELLOW
not at easy one in my house
but I looked on the wall, and there was my beautiful
Mothers Day card still in the devine love heart that I was given.
I had to add the fly swat into the picture, the all expected gift from the mothers day stall at school!! they come with lollies made into a fly shape,
generally, though, the lollies have mysteriously dissapeared by the time parents receive the gift!!
I wandered into my work room to be confronted with my drawers
exploding with yellow also.
to check out more yellow spaces, be sure to pop on over to hello owl

bright eyed and bushy tailed.....

well, it is Monday after all.
despite being rather bushy tailed
she was not feeling bright eyed!! my little princess
every Monday morning
'mum, do we have school today?'
yes sweetie, it's monday
'mum, I don't feel well, I think I need to stay home'
not a morning girl
not a rules girl
my little scruffy non conformist.
oh, how can you not love that little cross face
and it will start all again tomorrow morning....

and the tears of laughter came rolling in!!

while mindlessly roaming the internet today I came across this website.
before I knew it, I was in fits of hysteria.
tears rolling down my cheeks.
so ridiculously silly and hilarious
well, I simply can't explain it.
you must take a look for yourselves.
obviously not to all senses of humour, but totally up my alley.........

katie scissor hands

you don't know how long I have waited for you
so the crazy lady fell in love with the scissors
but what amazing scissors they are!
I had to immediately find some fabric to cut and cut and cut and cut.
I knew it was these beauties being delivered today
when the delivery man pulled up, I couldn't contain my excitement, meeting him at the truck
then stupidly said 'what a big truck for such a little package'
I sure hope he didn't take that the wrong way hehehe!!!
